Plot Synopsis
Because of her father’s sudden death, Lee Soon-Shin (IU) and her mother fall in trouble. They both attempt to find happiness, while Lee Soon-Shin falls in love.

Meanwhile Shin Joon-Ho (Cho Jung-Seok) is the president of an entertainment management company. He is over confident, arrogant and cold-blooded. By meeting Lee Soon-Shin, he realizes the meaning of true success and also changes.

The true meaning of family sometimes has nothing to do with blood. When Chang Hoon (Jung Dong Hwan) brings home a little baby girl he says he found abandoned at a bus stop, his wife, Kim Jung Ae (Go Doo Shim) raises her like her own daughter. Lee Soon Shin (IU) grows up happily with her older sisters, Lee Yoo Shin (Yoo In Na) and Lee Hye Shin (Son Tae Young). Hye Shin feels like a failure when she becomes a single mother after her marriage ends but finds kindness in Seo Jin Wook (Jung Woo), the neighborhood baker. Yoo Shin puts her work ahead of her dating life but begins to realize that her neighbor, Park Chan Woo (Go Joo Won), means more to her than she thought. Meanwhile Soon Shin struggles to find work after graduating from school and works in temp jobs. One day, she meets a man claiming to be Shin Joon Ho, the head of the talent agency Gabi Entertainment, who wants to make Soon Shin into an actress. After signing a contract, Soon Shin finds out that she has been scammed by an imposter.

Suddenly saddled with a large debt she has to repay, Soon Shin goes to work as a waitress at a café in the same building as Gabi Entertainment and soon becomes embroiled in a fun bet between the real Joon Ho (Jo Jung Suk) and his ex-girlfriend, actress Choi Yeon Ah (Kim Yoon Seo). Soon Shin’s life is further thrown into turmoil by the sudden accidental death of Chang Hoon and realization that her birth mother is the famous actress Song Mi Ryung (Lee Mi Sook). What will become of Soon Shin’s relationship with Jung Ae and her sisters? “You’re the Best, Lee Soon Shin” is a 2013 South Korean drama series directed by Yoon Sung Sik.

Jung-Ae (Ko Du-Shim) has three daughters: Hye-Shin (Son Tae-Young), Yoo-Shin (Yoo In-Na) and Soon-Shin (IU). Hye-Shin, the oldest daughter, married a competent man and has a daughter. She has just arrived back from Hong Kong with her daughter, but without her husband. Yoo-Shin, the middle daughter, looks down upon younger sister Soon-Shin. Meanwhile, Soon-Shin tries to hold a steady job, but keeps failing. She is adopted, but unaware of that fact.

One day, Soon-Shin gets a temporary part-time job at a hotel. If she does well she can get a permanent position. On the first day of her new job, Soon-Shin works with actress Song Mi-Ryung’s (Lee Mi-Sook) photo book release event at the hotel. Joon-Ho (Jo Jung-Suk), who is the president of an entertainment company, attends the event. Joon-Ho meets his ex-girlfriend Yeon-A (Kim Yoon-Seo) there, whom he still hasn’t gotten over.

Soon-Shin and entertainment company president Joon-Ho then physically bump into each other. Joon-Ho becomes covered with the food that Soon-Shin was serving. He becomes so angry that he asks the hotel manager to fire Soon-Shin, even though she begs him not to.

On the way home, Soon-Shin meets a man who introduces himself as a president of an entertainment company. He tells Soon-Shin that she has the looks to become a talent and gives her his name card. Soon-Shin goes back home excited. Her mother has prepared a festive dinner to celebrate Hye-Shin’s return from Hong Kong. During dinner, Soon-Shin tells everyone that she was scouted on the street, but middle sister Yoo-Shin again acts condescending towards her. Soon-Shin bursts into anger. Even though her family laughs at her and thinks it’s ridiculous, her mother Jung-Ae thinks differently.
